Summary
The Finance Coordinator will be responsible for local corporate tax/es and local accounting rules, will provide support for Finance Manager and should have knowledge of Polish corporate taxation system & local accounting rules and using this knowledge in practice.
Duties and responsibilities
Statutory Accounts and Audit
- Assist with preparation of year end statutory accounts for the entities in Poland
- Assist with the preparation of all schedules and supporting information required for the audit of the year end statutory accounts and the preparation of corporation tax computations
- Liaise with the external auditors as required
Tax and Statutory Accounting
- Prepare accounting journals related to tax specific areas and reviewing balances of tax specific GL accounts during month-end closing
- Preparing accounting journals with statutory adjustments required during year-end process
- Supporting Finances Manager in configuration of Group ERP system to ensure compliance with Polish statutory and tax requirements
- Reviewing differences between statutory accounts in statutory ERP system maintained by external accoutning and group ERP system managed in-house
Tax Compliance
- Reviewing CIT, VAT and other tax declarations for portfolio of entities in Poland.
- Responding to queries from global tax team and leading communication with tax advisors based in Poland.
- Ensuring efficient processes flow and timeliness of tax declarations preparation and filing
- Providing answers and documents during due diligence audits and tax office audits
- Maintaining tax documentation and reviewing completeness of documentation for prior periods
- Coordinating approval flow for tax payments and ensuring payment realization within due dates
- Providing financial and business information to external accounting and tax advisors
Tax Structuring
- Coordinate funding process for entities in Poland in line with group transfer pricing policy
- Reviewing documents and tax declarations related to share capital increase prepared by internal and external Legal CoSec and Accounting teams
- Reviewing tax documentation of entities acquired by the Group and supporting Finance Manager in onboarding new entities in ERP system, reporting tools and procedures
General day to day activity
- Take a hands on approach where required, processing entries for all ledgers as necessary
- Take ownership and pride in the accuracy, quality and timeliness of financial information
- Preparation of reports and tax declarations in line with agreed deadlines
- Liaising with other members of the wider finance team
Experience & Knowledge
- Relevant experience in similar role, preferably in energy or construction industry
- Polish GAAP and Polish tax law knowledge is a must, IFRS knowledge desirable
- Fluent in Polish and English is a must
- Experience with ERP systems especially S/4 HANA desirable

- Fluent in Polish and English
- Ability to organise workload and prioritise to maximum effect.
- Flexible approach in a fast-paced business which is constantly changing, keep a clear head under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail when checking information with an ability to recognise and question anomalies
- Keen problem solver who can focus on appropriate detail when solving problems and propose effective solutions
- Ability to pick up systems and processes quickly
- Demonstrate proficient MS Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, dealing with different levels in the organisation
- Positive can-do attitude, ability to maintain a positive attitude in demanding situations
- Work effectively as part of a team, share information with relevant parties
- Willingness to take on a variety of duties as required
