What You’ll do
Collaborate with the acquisition of sites, projects & portfolios from third party developers and manage and supervise the development of such projects through to Financial Close.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Review and assess projects from a development standpoint (land, community engagement, permits and licenses)
• Coordinate the Legal and Technical Due Diligence process with the support of the internal teams and external advisors
• Manage and supervise the progress of development of projects being carried out by third party developers
• Identify, pursue and develop new business opportunities together with third parties (developers)
• Maintain and develop strong working relationships with third party developers
• Interact with land owners, local developers and municipalities.
Knowledge & Experience
• Essential to have prior experience in business development and project sourcing in the solar PV industry in Japan, coming ideally from a project developer
• Hands on experience in developing PV projects in Japan: land identification and negotiations, environmental permitting, administrative authorisations, grid application, etc.
• Solid understanding of environmental constraints and land requirements
• Experience is corporate PPA origination or negotiation with corporate offtakers
• User level experience with financial models to assess project returns and evaluate impact of different assumptions
• Good knowledge of the main players in the industry (TAs, investors, EPCs, third party labs, etc.).
• 3 to 15 years’ experience in business development some of which in the Solar Industry in Japan is required
