Senior Permitting Manager, Taiwan

What You’ll do
Collaborate with the in-country business development team on sites, projects & portfolio acquisitions including Co-Development and Greenfield projects. This role will involve leading on and managing Greenfield project permitting process from site finding through to operational.
Regarding Co-Development projects, this role will focus on identifying, tracking and reporting permitting/license risks at the project and portfolio level, as well as analysing and addressing gaps in processes – to ensure alignment with LSbp’s global standards and lender requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Interface with Co-Developers and external advisors and collaborate on permitting processes and partake in permit review sessions with authorities
• Lead and manage Greenfield project permitting process and co-ordinate external consultants, advisors and service providers
• Review the viability and challenges of project development timelines and propose optimal permitting route/s
• Stay on top of renewable policies, implications and remedies
• Manage and supervise Co-Developer permit and licensing processes and their responses/solutions to flagged risks
• Review Due Diligence, Fatal Flaw Analysis/Feasibility Studies undertaken by external Technical and Legal Advisors, and comment critically on the permits and licenses, environmental and social constraints, fishery PV management, community engagement findings of these reports
• Review and assess projects from a development standpoint (land, community engagement, permits and licenses)
• Maintain and develop strong working relationships with third party developers
• Interact with land owners, local developers and municipalities
Knowledge & Experience
• Prior experience in permitting within Taiwan
• Ideally experience within renewables and/or aqua culture Solar PV projects
• Hands on experience in managing permitting process within Taiwan: site constraints analysis, environmental permitting, fishery PV management, administrative authorisations, stakeholder engagement etc.
• Solid understanding of environmental constraints and land requirements
• Good knowledge of the main players within the industry
• 7+ years’ experience in permitting or project development ideally some of which in the solar industry in Taiwan
