What You’ll do (the role)
Summary
Lightsource bp’s Team is responsible for the safe, timely and successful delivery of its renewable energy projects from the development phase through to construction completion and handover.
A site based personnel will be expected to support all areas of Lightsource bp’s Project Team outcomes by observing the project’s construction progress and engineering quality in real-time, collaborating with the EPC Contractor and subcontractors and reporting back to the wider LSbp Project Team to drive successful outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Taipower’s grid connection requirements to successfully manage the solar farm in accordance with the Grid Connection Code and Electricity Act.
- Act as the project-based site representative for all communication with Taipower Area Dispatch Control Center.
- Act as the project-based site representative in Taiwan, providing comprehensive support to the project team (development, construction and operations) across technical areas including site monitoring (construction and operations), quality assurance documentation, HSE, engineering reviews, and preparation of internal and external reports.
- Engage and liaise with key project stakeholders such as landowners, EPC/O&M contractors, fishery management, and Taipower, fostering positive relationships on behalf of LSbp.
- Work closely with the project team on a daily basis to plan and review construction
- monitoring and operational activities, providing updates on compliance, health and safety incidents, best practices, logistics, and interface challenges.
- Review Project documentation and ensure compliance with the Owner’s Requirements.
Who we’re looking for
Knowledge / Experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience in construction, operation and maintenance or site management.
- Preferably, experience in the large-scale power generation industry.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in power generation operations or self-use power generation equipment with a capacity of 100 MW, or 2 years of experience with equipment of 20 MW capacity.
- Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Operation and
- Maintenance (O&M) contract administration and subcontracting processes.
- Strong understanding of local conditions in Taiwan and related technical interpretations.
- Good knowledge of key industry players, including contractors, OEMs, and technical advisors.
- Willingness and availability to be based on-site as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field
- Taiwanese electrical training certifications (甲級室內配線技術士) is a plus
