What you’ll do (the role)
Summary
Lead the end‑to‑end Tender and Contracts process for large‑scale solar (and storage) projects across APAC from early development through to Notice to Proceed (NTP). Partner cross‑functionally to prepare, issue, negotiate, and award contracts that balance cost, risk, schedule, and quality—ensuring governance, clarity of scope, and timely decisions to enable successful project delivery.
Core Responsibilities

- Engage with project stakeholders (Development, Technical/Engineering, Legal, HSE, Grid/Networks, Finance) to gather specifications, clarify technical and commercial queries, and align on bid evaluation criteria.
- Drive commercial negotiations with preferred bidders; shape terms and conditions in line with project requirements and company standards.
- Recommend contract award decisions through robust risk allocation, cost analysis, and value comparisons; prepare approval papers and obtain governance sign‑offs.
- Oversee tender schedules, communications, and decision logs; chair weekly/monthly touchpoints and maintain transparent reporting to peers and the project team.
- Support claims prevention and resolution strategies; advise on contractual interpretation, change management, and claims/variations as needed.
- Maintain strong, professional representation of Lightsource bp at supplier and industry events; promote our strategy and uphold standards of safety, integrity, and respect.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tendering templates, processes, and playbooks across the APAC region.
