What You’ll do
Reporting directly to the APAC COO and an integral member of the regional leadership team, you will have accountability for the fleet of LSbp operational assets in the region (currently circa 1GW), which you will deliver through your small, but growing team of Asset and O&M managers. You will oversee the integral daily management of the 7 Lightsourcebp large-scale solar plants in Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan ensuring best practice for safety, quality and environmental performance, whilst enhancing the overall returns and value of each project and complying with all the applicable contractual and regulatory agreements. In 2025 LSbp is also constructing a standalone BESS and a hybrid PV/BESS in Australia, PV project in NZ and its first PV project in Japan.
You will be the COO’s point of accountability for the operational phase of the assets under management in the region.
You will also work with key partners in the Development and Construction phases of the regional pipeline to ensure the smooth transition of projects through the life-cycle and set the conditions for success in the Operational phase. You will plan ahead in support of the expansion of the regional footprint into New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan and Korea, ensuring that AM and O&M accountabilities are delivered in these jurisdictions in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Leadership
• Provide effective leadership to a growing team of Asset Management and O&M professionals by creating the right, positive, “can do”, problem-solving environment for individuals to grow, develop and deliver results.
• Develop and drive a skills and resourcing roadmap to meet the expected growth in assets under management/ in development (including for BESS).
• Role model and coach the behaviours and values that are key to a positive, collaborative and supportive working environment.
• Develop a network of contacts across LSbp APAC and globally, and in the industry, to help improve performance, identify best practice and set LSbp operational management on a path to sustainable success.
• Work collaboratively with leaders in AM, H&S, Performance and Operations in US and EMEA to share best practice, support global initiatives and ensure (where appropriate) a common and consistent approach.
• As part of the Regional Leadership team, help shape the direction, and identify the solutions, to meet the ambitious regional goals, whilst ensuring the Core Values of Safety, Integrity, Respect, Sustainability and Drive remain at the heart of our thinking and actions.
General management responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day Asset Management and Operation of all the assets within the APAC region, to ensure a safe working environment for all LSbp colleagues, contractors, visitors and neighbours.
• Drive the financial performance of each operational project through controlling costs and identifying opportunity to improve performance.
• Own and drive in-year operational budgets to beat targets sustainably and optimize financial value of the assets.
• Account for all commercial, financial and technical demands of the operational projects across the region, whilst engaging proactively with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance of all operational projects with key contracts such as PPA, O&M, Grid Connection, Loan agreements and Trading Representative contracts.
• In conjunction with key business partners, provide regular Asset Performance updates and improvement plans (and progress against) to colleagues across the business and critical external stakeholders.
• Oversee the management of the individual SPV P&Ls, as well as the P&L of the AM profit centre within the Region.
• Encourage and support a positive working relationship with all landowners and local representatives, whilst ensuring that all payments are made when due, and all agreed actions are delivered.
• Oversee the effective onboarding from Construction of all new projects, the efficient management of the EPC O&M period, including the transition to the long-term O&M provider.
• Support colleagues in the Development teams in the provision of costs and performance data to help shape the financial models for future projects.
• Contribute regularly to the lessons learned process to help inform Development and Construction colleagues of key learnings from the operational phase of the assets, in order to improve the quality and value of projects in development, as well as the pace of delivery.
• Continuously identify improvements to operational and AM policies, procedures and processes to ensure relevant contractual, regulatory and legal requirements are met.
• Support and enhance the LSbp brand through role model behaviour and operational performance.
Who we’re looking for
KNOWLEDGE
• Ability and proven track record of leading teams in a coaching and supportive manner to create the right conditions for team and personal development, growth and performance delivery, in a demanding operational environment.
• Ability to drive team performance of experienced professionals in a calm, assured manner that builds team and individual confidence, capability and independence in order to enhance operational output.
• Asset management, O&M Management and/or operational knowledge of solar and BESS assets in a multi-state and international environment.
• Knowledge of the PV and BESS asset lifecycle and understanding of the key drivers of operational performance and financial value.
• Knowledge of relationship/stakeholder management techniques and the ability to engage, negotiate and manage stakeholders, partners, colleagues and customers.
EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience in Operational or Asset management roles.
• Extensive experience in leading diverse, multi-location, high-performing teams.
• Experience of leadership in a technical or commercial environment, with a proven ability to adapt, simplify and problem-solve at pace.
• P&L management experience of multi-location and multi $m large-scale projects.
• Strong track record of successful management of Health and Safety outcomes.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Educated to Degree level in business/management, engineering, technical or commercial field, or equivalent.
