What You’ll do (the role)
The Summer Internship program is twelve weeks long and will run from June 1st 2026 to August 31st 2026. Interns will be paid 1.500€ brut/month. This is a hybrid role, and the trainee must be able to work from our office in Madrid at least 3 days per week.
Summary
This role will be for an intern in the LSbp Engineering Centre of Excellence.
The successful candidate will join a diverse and dynamic team who support the existing global solar portfolio, as well as support growth by performing technical and commercial assessment of mounting structures, both Fixed Tilt and Trackers, for PV Projects at any project stage: development, design, construction and commissioning, as well as in operation stage upon request.
Close coordination with Innovation, Procurement, Civil Works, Construction, Quality and Asset Management teams are key tasks for this Global role.
Duties and responsibilities
- Support for Technical Specifications, Standards, Certifications, Digital files, and Data Sheets for PV mounting structures, including scope of supply, technical and QA/QC requirements, design requirements, H&S guidelines, etc.
- Scouting renewable market to evaluate best technologies, manufacturers and products suitability for LSbp’s fleet of projects, as well as reliability, product performance, manufacturing capacity, etc.
- Develop and continuously update Global PV mounting structures Road Map,
- Release quarterly PV mounting structures White List acceptable to LSbp,
- Monitor supply market’s contractor pool, technology, innovation and cost trends regularly,
- Identify supplier development and improvement opportunities and propose business cases in coordination with Procurement Category Manager and commercial/development teams,
- Conduct the technical review of PV mounting structures in tendering projects or portfolio of projects in alignment with relevant stakeholders like procurement, legal, construction, asset management to ensure best value for LSbp, creating balanced technical tabulations,
- Update and optimize total cost of ownership (Capex, Opex) of PV mounting structures and its life cycle
- Work with procurement department to negotiate supply contracts with vendors,
- Review of design and load calculation reports for PV mounting structures,
- Cooperate with Civil Works and CAD teams to conduct PV plant design layouts, including earth works movements estimates,
- Coordinate with Civil Works team the review of all foundation calculation reports for PV mounting structures based on the available geotechnical information,
- Manage and coordination of external consultants to complete any internal assessments,
- Participate in any PV mounting structure troubleshooting in operating projects.
Who we’re looking for
Knowledge & Experience
- Desirable experience (not a must) undertaking structural calculations, structural design or product structural evaluation, particularly for PV mounting structures,
- Desirable experience (not a must) in detailed structural design using specialized calculation or modelling software,
- Desirable experience (not a must) in on-site construction of utility scale ground mounted PV plants,
- Desirable experience (not a must) in the evaluation of the ground conditions affecting the PV mounting structure design,
- Desirable experience (not a must) with international structural design codes (ASCE, Eurocodes, AS-NZS,…),
- Familiarity with different PV mounting structures technologies, such as tracking systems, fixed tilt, mounting structures foundation types, PV modules clamping systems, etc.
- Familiarity with QA tests for PV mounting structures,
- Desirable experience (not a must) in dynamic problems associated to this type of structures: flatter, galloping, etc.
- Desirable experience (not a must) in complex technical-commercial processes related to utility PV mounting structures,
- Desirable experience (not a must) with the requirements of Asset Management (electrical hazards investigation, retrofit upgrades, technical due diligence),
- Ability to work with variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, VBA, to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases,

Education & Experience
- Degree or master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or similar, preferably mechanical, structural or civil,
- Fluent English spoken and written. Additional languages are a plus.
