What You’ll do (the role)




This role will lead the SME (Subject Matter Experts) area in the LSbp Engineering Centre of Excellence (ECE).


The successful candidate will lead a diverse and dynamic team of SMEs who supports growth by performing technical and commercial assessment of key equipment such as modules, inverters, PV mounting structures, SCADA systems, etc. across each of the various stages of a Solar PV Projects: development, design and construction, as well as in operation stage upon request.


Ensure the close coordination of the SME area with Innovation, Procurement, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction, Quality and Asset Management teams is a key task for this Global role.




  • Lead the global SME team within LSbp’s ECE, working on projects globally, ensuring the proper integration and coordination with other areas such as Innovation, Procurement, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction, Quality and Asset Management.
  • Define SME area functions and responsibilities, as well as reviewing and defining the most suitable working scheme and interference points with other areas to ensure the best outcome for LSbp.
  • Prioritize the SME area tasks, keeping always the both the team members and the internal customers in the core of the strategic and tactical activities delivery.
  • Create strategic development plans for the SME area, intending to improve the amount and quality of the corresponding duties and responsibilities delivered by the SME team.
  • Develop and maintain Functional Technical Specifications, Standards, Certifications, Digital files, and Data Sheets, including scope of supply, technical and QA/QC requirements, design requirements, H&S guidelines, etc., for the key equipment that SMEs in the team are responsible for,
  • Reasonable homogenization and coherence between different SME areas of expertise in terms of documentation, practices, etc.
  • Scouting renewable market to evaluate best technologies, manufacturers and products suitability for LSbp’s fleet of projects, as well as reliability, products performance, manufacturing capacity, etc. for the key equipment that SMEs in the team are responsible for,
  • Ensure that each SME develops and continuously updates the Global Road Map for each key equipment,
  • Release quarterly key equipment White List acceptable to LSbp,
  • Participate in the Quarterly Business Review for each White Listed vendor of key equipment,
  • Monitor supply market’s pool, technology, innovation and cost trends regularly for kay equipment,
  • Identify supplier development and improvement opportunities and propose business cases in coordination with Procurement Category Manager and commercial/development teams,
  • Support the Project Development and Project Acquisition processes to assess the key equipment risks,
  • Support the LCOE optimization process for new and existing projects internationally, iterating as many times as required with Construction, Civil Engineering, Procurement, etc.
  • Conduct the technical review of key equipment in tendering projects in alignment with relevant stakeholders like Procurement, Construction, Asset Management to ensure best value for LSbp, creating balanced technical tabulations,
  • Optimize total cost of ownership (Capex, Opex) of key equipment and its life cycle
  • Support Procurement department to negotiate supply contracts with vendors,
  • Review of design and calculation reports for key equipment,
  • Manage and coordination of external consultants to complete any internal assessments,
  • Participate in any key equipment troubleshooting in operating projects.


Who we’re looking for




  • Experience in engineering technical and managerial roles, project management (in technical, quality, commercial, schedule, contractual aspects), miscellaneous teams leadership, etc. for utility scale ground mounted PV Plant,
  • Experience in construction of utility scale ground mounted PV plants is a plus,
  • Familiarity with international design codes for key equipment,
  • Familiarity with different key equipment technologies,
  • Familiarity with QA tests for key equipment,
  • Familiarity with the requirements of Asset Management (electrical hazards investigation, retrofit upgrades, technical due diligence),
  • Ability to work with variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, VBA, to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases,
  • Experience in a similar role is a key advantage,
  • Experience in complex technical-commercial processes related to key equipment,
  • Experience coordinating area deliverables with other areas requirements, while in complex technical-commercial processes related to utility PV projects, in any project stage: Development, Acquisition Due Diligence, EPC Contract negotiation, Construction execution, etc.

  • Degree or master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or similar, preferably electrical, mechanical or structural,
