Summary

As a Grid Analytics Intern, you will support the Grid team in analysing grid connection opportunities and project queue dynamics across European markets. Working alongside experienced grid engineers, you will contribute to data-driven research on grid capacity, connection processes, and congestion patterns to help identify where and how renewable and storage projects can be optimally sited and accelerated.

This internship offers a unique entry point into the intersection of power systems, data analytics, and renewable energy development, providing hands-on exposure to real project pipelines and grid intelligence workflows.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Monitor and analyse public grid connection queues and project pipelines across selected European countries, identifying trends, bottlenecks, and emerging opportunities for new connections.
  • Support the collection, processing, and visualisation of network capacity data, including hosting capacity maps and available headroom at key nodes, to assist in identifying high-potential grid zones.
  • Assist in assessing connection process regulations and procedures (TSO/DSO rules, connection codes) to map out timelines and feasibility for potential project siting across target geographies.
  • Contribute to data analysis tasks using tools such as Python and/or Power BI to automate recurring reporting and surface opportunity signals from large datasets.
  • Help maintain and update internal databases integrating regulatory and network data to support the team's grid intelligence platform.
  • Collaborate with Grid Engineers to prepare clear summaries and visualisations of findings for internal teams.

Why you’ll make a great member of the team
