What You’ll do (the role)
SUMMARY
As the Vice President of Business Development in a home energy management business, your primary responsibility will be to research and find leads to develop reseller channels for the company's products. You will identify and create target lists of potential businesses and connect with them through outbound marketing, then work on developing a process to identify warm prospects. These warm prospects will need to be sales qualified, working with the Senior Vice President of Sales, and there will be in-person meetings to explain the value proposition of the products and develop a joint business case for the prospect.
In addition to developing reseller channels, you will also work with end-users of the products, assisting them through the process of evaluating and selecting, then contracting for the energy management products and through the installation process. As the business grows, you will earn commission by ensuring that end-users buy more products and increase their annual spend with the business.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Develop and implement a strategy to create reseller channels for the company's products.
- Identify target lists of potential businesses and connect with them through outbound marketing.
- Develop a process to identify warm prospects, sales qualify them, and work on developing a joint business case for the prospect.
- Work with end-users of the products, assisting them through the process of evaluating and selecting, then contracting for the energy management products and through the installation process.
- Ensure that end-users buy more products and increase their annual spend with the business.
- Build team to scale the business development function.
Who we’re looking for
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in the home energy management industry preferred.
- Proven experience in outbound business development and managing people and sellers.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and revenue growth
- Excellent commercial mindset and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
