Duties and Responsibilities

 

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, this role will be chiefly responsible for the monthly consolidation, delivering insightful, and accurate reporting to both internal and external stakeholders. Outside of month end, the individual will also be striving to make ongoing improvements to reporting accuracy and completeness by reviewing balances and refining estimates and judgements.

 

The role partner with wider finance teams and the business to ensure proactive engagement to support close ongoing P/L and BS management.

 

Monthly / Quarterly Reporting

  • Support the monthly reporting cycle and close process
  • Responsible for timely and accurate reporting across the primary statements to all key stakeholders
  • Review balances in-month and material monthly movements to ensure accuracy for the close
  • Run exercises to strive for ongoing balance sheet clean up
  • Responsible for maintaining and reviewing centralised journals
  • Providing controls and assurance around classification and completeness of legal entities pulling into the consolidation.
  • Ensure quarter-end upload of GL into bp is performed in accordance with agreed timelines

Partnering

  • Reconcile balances and investigate variances and large movements with Finance Business Partnering team and local Finance Managers
  • Lead “as-is” and “to-be” processes and collaborate with decentralised teams to ensure consistency in application and processes on a go-forward basis
  • Engage with key stakeholders with commercial acuity to problem solve complex areas
  • Support in SOX controls

External Audit & Compliance

  • Support the transformation of external & internal audit processes within an evolving business.
  • Partnering with local finance teams and auditors to deliver Group and Subsidiary audits by required deadlines.
  • Significantly contributing to the Group’s external audit process.
  • Prepares reports that document practical recommendations to resolve issues, including supervising remediation statuses with the internal business partners to inspire change and improvement across the organization.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5+ years post qualification experience
  • Top 6 audit training
  • Technically strong. Up to date IFRS knowledge including IFRS 9, 15 and 16 (US GAAP desirable)
  • Multi-currency group consolidation in large organisations (essential)
  • Expert in using ERP system (preferably SAP S/4 HANA)

  • Demonstrable experience working in a growing, high turnover business, responsibility for all controls and processes
  • Ability and confidence to deliver, with a high degree of autonomy and with high quality standards
  • Proven experience of leading and developing and group audit process
  • Team-player used to work in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and multi-task
  • Ability to forge long term professional relationships with third parties
  • Proven expertise in team leadership in complex, high paced environments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Related discipline
  • Qualifications in either ACA/ACCA/CIMA
