What You’ll Do

 

Joining our Global Corporate Marketing and Communications team means working with a group of passionate professionals dedicated to helping drive the energy transition through the growth of our onshore renewable and storage platform.

 

As a Level 4 Global Corporate Marketing Communications Apprentice at Lightsource bp, you will further develop the skills and knowledge required to support the delivery of our mission supporting our global corporate marketing and communications strategy. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in understanding marketing principles, strategic planning and implementation of marketing campaigns while studying towards a professional qualification.

 

Working alongside a dynamic marketing and communications team, you will contribute to initiatives that promote our brand, services and capabilities, enhance the customer experience, increase stakeholder engagement and deliver return on investment while driving culture and promoting safe behaviours.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Event logistics

 

  • Assist in coordinating internal and external event logistics such as venue and accommodation booking, and transportation arrangements.
  • Support on-site event setup and dismantle, as applicable
  • Handle registrations and delegate communications (e.g. confirmation emails, reminders).

 

Content and communications support

 

  • Help develop internal and external communications for various platforms including website, intranet, social media and email marketing.
  • Draft weekly internal newsletter.
  • Contribute ideas to internal/external comms campaign planning.
  • Schedule event-related social media posts and  email invitations aligned with the overall marketing strategy.
  • Assist in developing materials such as presentations and information packs.
  • Update event content on internal and external platforms.

 

Vendor and agency coordination

 

  • Support managing third-party contractors to ensure deliverables meet deadlines.

 

Data and reporting

 

  • Support in collecting event participant data (attendance, engagement, etc) and feedback during and after events for the preparation of post-event reports.
  • Help raise purchase orders as needed and maintain filing for event-related documents.
  • Update digital communication channel stats monthly.
  • General administrative tasks
  • Maintain event calendars and ensure all relevant stakeholders are updated.
  • Provide other administrative tasks as requested

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

Essential:

 

  • Interest in pursuing a career in marketing and communications.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong interest in digital and event marketing, internal communications, with a willingness to learn various marketing tools including, but not limited to social media, Brandwatch, Salesforce and MailChimp.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Some experience in marketing and/or communications, or a related field (e.g., internships, volunteer work).
  • Familiarity with marketing tools, systems, or processes is a plus but not essential.
