As Lightsource bp accelerates its growth trajectory, there is a strong focus within the Finance team to deliver continuous improvement and an evolution of the Finance systems, policies and processes. A key element of this is around process automation and digitalisation within the function. This role, reporting to the Head of Global Special Projects, is responsible for delivering and managing a wide range of key projects that are focused on these objectives.

The role, within the Central Finance team, will involve taking ownership and delivering defined projects that have a demonstrable value to the Finance team and the wider business. The role will be integral to analysing and re-designing existing processes and policies and delivering other digital initiatives that will drive greater efficiency and performance of the organisation. A flexible approach will be required, along with the ability to work with and influence individuals across the business.

Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

The scope of the role may flex to suit the needs of the business as they evolve over time, and will focus on the following areas:

Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify automation opportunities by analysing processes and assessing feasibility for automation

Analyse, understand, and document business processes in detail for the purpose of RPA deployment

Identify, prioritise and propose key processes that deliver long-term sustainable ROI to the Finance function

Partner closely with wider finance team to ensure accurate and quality RPA deliverables

Participate in various interviews, meetings or workshops to define, optimize, and document processes to configure RPA solutions

Leverage process improvement experience to streamline and optimize processes for RPA implementation

Run project sprints to develop, test and implement RPA solutions

Ensure the automation services are supported, maintained and are performing optimally for the business

Develop and maintain the RPA performance dashboard

Collaborate with IT RPA team to support the governance operations and maintenance of our RPA solutions

Business Processes & Digitalisation Initiatives

Work with the Finance function to simplify, standardise, and systemise finance processes that facilitate the continued growth and development of the Lightsource bp group.

Contribute to building a repository of tools, playbooks and best practices

Working in cross-functional and multi-regional project teams to shape resilient and scalable finance processes across the Lightsource bp group.

Process redesign that delivers meaningful insight, standardisation, and efficiencies to the business

Deploy a multi-disciplinary approach (i.e. machine learning, AI tools, business analytics, etc.) to solving business challenges

Driving cross-functional teams from all levels of the business to ensure key timelines and objectives are met.

The role will be responsible for multiple projects of varying size and duration which support the Head of Global Projects’ objectives while also working closely with the wider Finance team.

Knowledge

Experience of assessing, executing, and documenting RPA business opportunities

A strong understanding of processes and polices that underpin an efficient global finance function.

RPA / low code platform configuration experience preferably with Power Automate

Wider experience of developing and implementing automation and digitalisation initiatives within a global finance team

Strong stakeholder management skills

Excellent communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal)

Ability to present financial information to senior level stakeholders.

Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, OneDrive preferred. Advanced MS Office skills a plus

Exceptionally strong analytical skills

Ability to challenge and be willing to get involved and help with decisions that affect the development of the business

Qualifications

Project Management or process re-engineering qualification desirable

Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant desirable

Experience

3+ years’ experience of assessing, executing and documenting RPA business opportunities

3 years’ experience working in an operational finance role within a finance function of an international business

3 years’ experience in project management and process improvement and re-design

3 years’ experience of development and documentation of finance policies and procedures
