Role Overview
The Head of Indirect Procurement & Process Excellence at Lightsource bp will lead strategic initiatives to optimize the sourcing, negotiation, and management of non-core goods and services essential for supporting operational needs. This pivotal role encompasses oversight of categories including facilities management, professional services, IT, marketing, travel, and other indirect areas. The incumbent will drive significant cost efficiencies, ensure rigorous supplier compliance, and cultivate robust partnerships to advance organizational objectives.
The Head of Indirect Procurement & Process Excellence will be also responsible for developing, strengthening and rolling out best practices for processes and tools improving efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement:
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for indirect categories, focusing on maximizing cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Develop and strengthen the existing process and tool landscape. Overseeing the rollout to the regions globally.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with overarching business goals.
- Conduct thorough market analyses to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and strategic opportunities within indirect procurement.
Supplier Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage relationships with suppliers to guarantee superior service delivery and product quality.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts and agreements, securing favorable terms while adhering to company policies and standards.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics through KPIs, implementing corrective actions and improvement initiatives as necessary.
Cost Management:
- Oversee budgets associated with indirect spend, identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives to optimize expenditure.
- Conduct rigorous cost analyses and benchmarking exercises to enhance value generation across procurement categories.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all procurement activities align with regulatory requirements and internal policies, mitigating supply chain risks through robust vendor management protocols.
- Implement and maintain comprehensive vendor risk management processes to safeguard organizational interests.
- Process Optimization:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, leveraging cutting-edge technology and industry best practices.
- Develop and refine procurement policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Profound expertise in negotiation and contract management, with a demonstrable track record of delivering favorable outcomes.
- Strong analytical acumen, capable of interpreting complex data sets to drive informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Exceptional communication skills, adept at fostering productive relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Experience in developing and implementing processes effectively in a diverse stakeholder environment.
- Proficiency in leading-edge procurement systems and tools such as SAP, Ariba, or Coupa.
- Extensive knowledge of procurement best practices and adeptness in managing supplier relationships across diverse categories.
- Proven ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments while effectively managing multiple priorities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS or CPSM are highly advantageous.
- Substantial experience in indirect procurement or a related field, with a robust record of delivering cost savings and process improvements.
- In-depth familiarity with indirect procurement categories including IT, facilities management, marketing, and professional services.
