What You’ll do (the role)

 

Summary

You will be leading on planning and environmental matters for our development pipeline of solar energy projects across Poland. This will include inputting into key decisions on site selection and individual project approaches, as well as ad hoc supporting team members on topics related with spatial planning regulatory.

At this role you will be closely collaborate with local communes and authorities.

We encourage close collaboration across teams, and you will work closely with other internal teams, including business development (BD), design, construction, grid, and marketing. You will also be part of the wider global environmental & social planning community at Lightsource bp, with the opportunity to get involved in company level initiatives that interest you.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage Greenfield project spatial planning process and co-ordinate external consultants, advisors, and service providers – ensuring we receive expected value and quality
  • Provide expert planning advice to inform decision-making and strategy on-site selection, planning applications and stakeholder and community engagement
  • Supervise Co-Developers and support internal BD Managers on the planning process, including the identification and mitigation of risks
  • Review Due Diligence, Fatal Flaw Analysis/Feasibility Studies undertaken by external Technical and Legal Advisors, and comment on the planning and social impact findings of these reports
  • Prepare and engage in handovers to Construction, to ensure planning, environmental and social obligations during construction and operation are clearly detailed and understood
  • Maintain and manage strong working relationships with third party developers, authorities and other key stakeholders
  • Collaborating with relevant departments to progress our development pipeline to achieve our targets, including identifying and reporting on permitting risks, and ensuring asks to other teams are clear
  • Stay on top of relevant renewable energy policies, legislation changes and implications on planning

 

Knowledge & Experience

 

  • At least 6 year’s hands-on experience in infrastructure and industry projects in Spatial Planning procedures is a must
  • Preferably prior experience in permitting and business development within the solar PV or Wind industry other large scale commercial projects
  • Extensive knowledge on large scale infrastructure projects development process, with focus on dependencies and role of environmental and planning scope in it
  • Be in the loop of future legislation changes
  • Solid understanding of environmental constraints and spatial planning
  • Good knowledge of the main players within the industry
  • Experience in a stakeholder’s engagement during project development with focus on municipalities
  • Experience in external consultants management
