What You’ll do (the role)
Summary
Lightsource bp’s Commercial Engineering Team provides technical support across all areas of the global organisation and for projects being developed across the globe.
A site based engineer will be expected to support all areas of Lightsource bp’s Commercial Engineering outcomes by focusing on projects in construction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Project based site role in regional Australia, supporting the Project Construction process across all technical aspects including the monitoring of site works, QA documentation, HSE, review and development of internal or external reports;
- Support and proactively monitor to ensure a strong positive site Health & Safety and Environmental culture;
- Interfacing with the EPC Contractor, LSbp’s Owner’s Engineer, Technical Advisors and network connection related activities undertaken by the Network Service Provider (NSP), leading a positive approach to relationships.
- Monitor and report on Technical Performance for project construction activities, including construction schedule, logistics, procurement and interfaces;
- Support the Project Manager as needed across technical aspects during the construction period, Works Completion and PAC;
- Coordinate site technical support with the regional Commercial Engineering manager and related support staff;
- Coordinate and manage Technical Advisors (OE, LTA, etc) when onsite;
- Review and document EPC Contractor construction activities for compliance with Owner’s Requirements and EPC Contract technical appendices.
Who we’re looking for
Knowledge / Experience
- 2-5 years of experience;
- Solar PV industry is mandatory;
- Good knowledge of PV generating technologies and constituent components (modules, inverters, structures, trackers, etc);
- Knowledge of EPC contracts, particularly Technical Appendices;
- Experience with large-scale Solar PV plants in Australia, working either on the Developer, EPC Contractor or Technical Advisor side would be an advantage;
- Good knowledge of local Australian conditions and related technical interpretations;
- Good knowledge of the main players in the industry (TAs, investors, EPCs, etc).

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
