Senior Director, Structured Finance

What You’ll do 
The Structured Finance team is committed to helping Lightsource bp finance and commercialize 25GW by 2025 having helped financing 2.2 GW and raise  $3.3bn of debt and tax equity financing in the USA since 2019. To support our mandate, our team is looking for a highly motivated and closing-oriented transaction director responsible for leading project finance teams and transactions for large-scale solar facilities, including raising tax equity and construction/ term debt as well as supporting project development and M&A activities. The individual will work closely with the development, origination, construction, legal, and engineering teams to ensure successful financings for utility-scale solar projects. In addition, the individual will be responsible for delegating and steering Managers and Senior Analysts while remaining focused on efficiently closing utility-scale project finance debt and tax equity financings. 
Duties and Responsibilities
•    Lead negotiations and structuring with financing counterparties for large-scale solar assets, including tax equity, construction debt, term debt, and other financial products
•    Manage teams performing all aspects of transaction execution including project marketing, negotiation of financing terms, investor due diligence, structuring and financial modeling, and transaction closing
•    Lead valuation, due diligence, negotiation, and financing of late-stage project acquisitions
•    Provide guidance to Lightsource bp’s Power Marketing and Project Development teams regarding financial structuring and investor appetite for new offtake structures
•    Prepare and present project acquisition opportunities and other business initiatives to Lightsource bp’s Investment Committee and other senior executives
Who we’re looking for     

Knowledge & Skillset
•    Detailed understanding of renewable energy tax equity and debt structures
•    Outstanding financial modelling, written and oral communication skills
•    Tireless, proactive, and solutions-oriented worker that is alert to business opportunities and passionate about value creation
Qualifications & Experience
•    8-10 years of professional experience working in renewable energy project finance including firsthand experience closing multiple project debt and tax equity financings
•    Successful track record of managing project finance and M&A transactions from beginning to end 
•    Experience leading internal teams and managing external counterparties
•    All remote candidates qualified to work in the USA shall be considered, however a strong bias/advantage will be given to candidates willing to relocate to and work from our offices in San Francisco or Denver

•    US team members are entitled to medical benefits, life insurance, dental benefits, vision benefits and short- and long-term disability benefits. Lightsource bp pays for the first $800 of the monthly insurance premium. For staff members with dependents, Lightsource will cover 50% of the costs of covering dependents. The team member contributes the remainder of the premium, if any, through pre-tax payroll deduction.
•    Lightsource bp offers US team members immediate eligibility for a 401(k) plan, with a 3% nonelective employer contribution.
•    Our team members are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, calculated based on corporate, team and individual objectives. Team members in the US may receive an additional 50% of their annual bonus in a “retention bank” as well, available for withdrawal after three years of bonus awards have accrued.
•    Lightsource bp currently observes the following 11 holidays in the US: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
•    US team members accrue 20 days of vacation and 15 days of sick leave annually. All team members are also eligible for COVID-19 leave.
•    Team members in the US enjoy a hybrid work environment.
•    US team members receive a monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150. Team members also receive one-time wellness and remote work allowances.
