SCADA Project Manager

What You’ll do 
The SCADA manager at Lightsource bp is part of the team responsible for supervision of SCADA installation, maintenance, network architecture design and sub-system support . The SCADA networks are used for controlling, operating and monitoring solar energy power plants and substations. A successful candidate has the ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual manager and team member in front of both internal and external customers and may be exposed to challenging areas of customer interface and sales strategies.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
•    Provide SCADA expertise on solar power and substation systems during the development, construction and operations phases of each project.
•    Work with project management to aggregate site requirements and guide designs for construction.
•    Work with project management to deliver procurement and deployment plans, timelines and costs.
•    Manage IT consultants and subcontractors for network security deliverables, testing, budgets, and system completion.
•    Manage vendors to deploy SCADA solutions according to timelines and budget. Supervise troubleshooting of problems to meet site requirements.
•    Supervise programming of substation RTAC units, and communication hardware using standard SCADA protocols.
•    Work closely with the project manager, construction manager, electrical manager, and project engineer to guarantee a quality system is installed and tested to specification
•    Ensure that SCADA systems have been installed per company requirements and tested to meet QSE, Utility and regional reliability council requirements.
•    Support the operations group throughout the life of the facility to maintain reliability of the energy facility on the grid.
•    Maintain project and department documentation in company documentation control software.

 

KNOWLEDGE
•    B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience
•    Working knowledge of the renewables energy industry and projects
•    Familiarity with and ability to stay current on SCADA regulations and standards.
•    Must be familiar & worked with industrial standards protocols – MODBUS, DNP, IEC, OPC
•    Knowledge of NERC/CIP requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS 
•    Strong computer skills, including familiarity with web based systems and software tools, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Database Management software (such as Access).
•    Excellent time management skills with strong organizational skills and ability.

 

EXPERIENCE 
•    8+ years of utility or industrial  SCADA experience (solar power industry preferred)
•    Experience with SCADA software programming, SCADA historians, MS SQL servers.

We offer:
· US team members are entitled to medical benefits, life insurance, dental benefits, vision benefits and short- and long-term disability benefits. Lightsource bp pays for the first $800 of the monthly insurance premium. For staff members with dependents, Lightsource will cover 50% of the costs of covering dependents. The team member contributes the remainder of the premium, if any, through pre-tax payroll deduction.
· Lightsource bp offers US team members immediate eligibility for a 401(k) plan, with a 3% nonelective employer contribution.
· Our team members are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, calculated based on corporate, team and individual objectives. Team members in the US may receive an additional 50% of their annual bonus in a “retention bank” as well, available for withdrawal after three years of bonus awards have accrued.
· Lightsource bp currently observes the following 11 holidays in the US: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
· US team members accrue 20 days of vacation and 15 days of sick leave annually. All team members are also eligible for COVID-19 leave.
· Team members in the US enjoy a hybrid work environment.
· US team members receive a monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150. Team members also receive one-time wellness and remote work allowances
