Associate Asset Manager

What You’ll do 
Summary
Integral role in supporting the Asset Managers in providing daily operational and commercial management of the Lightsource bp large-scale solar plants in the USA, ensuring best practice for safety, quality, and environmental performance, whilst enhancing the overall returns and value of each project and complying with all the applicable contractual agreements.
Duties and Responsibilities

Daily Asset Management operation 
•    Provide support to the US Asset Services team in the day-to-day operations of the solar projects within the United States, providing guidance, encouraging teamwork, whilst adhering to work processes to achieve high performance standards. 

Performance and monitoring 
•    Provide overall support to the Asset Manager team for operating assets, including interfacing with various workstreams such as performance management, insurance, legal, finance, IT, procurement, etc.
•    Support the Asset Managers, as required, with engagement of 3rd parties and overall management of the operations and maintenance activities, to help oversee the safe operations of the portfolio of assets. 
•    Assist in the ongoing performance review of the sites as well as analysis of potential optimisation projects/actions. 
Financial Analysis, Budgeting & Reporting
•    Support the Asset Managers, as required, in providing financial planning and analytics for AssetServices, including monthly analysis of revenue impacts, operating expenses, plant improvements, contract amendments, and other business-related impacts.
•    Collaborate in the annual budget preparation process, including incorporating inputs and standardizing budget assumptions across the fleet.
•    Support Asset Management/Operations reporting activities including Executive Management reviews, monthly project reports, and other reporting activities as required.
•    Monthly review of operational and financial KPIs, identification of improvement opportunities. 
•    Support Finance team with analysis of monthly P&L variance and CF Forecast for the assigned SPVs.
•    Provide support in the preparation of internal and external stakeholder monthly performance reporting.

Commercial and Contractual Management
•    Review and ensure compliance with key commercial contracts for operating assets and reviewing development project agreements.
•    Populate and manage the ongoing maintenance of the compliance database for operating assets by ensuring periodic updates, compliance assessments, and compliance implementation.
•    Provide support to the US Asset Services team for the assigned operating assets, including interfacing with various workstreams such as performance management, insurance, legal, finance, IT, procurement, etc.
•    Supporting the Asset Managers, as required, with engagement of 3rd parties and overall management of the operations and maintenance activities, to help oversee the safe operations of the portfolio of assets. 
•    Assist the Asset Managers with the collaboration with the Power Marketing team with any merchant Day Ahead and Real Time electricity sales. optimization strategy, REC management, and Capacity Market participation. 
•    Support the commercial and operational transition from Development/Construction to Operations.

Who we’re looking for   

Knowledge
•    Commercial Asset Management experience for utility scale solar PV and/or wind energy within the United States as well as basic understanding of organized energy markets fundamentals as well as general energy and operational dispatch concepts of renewable assets. 
Qualifications 
•    A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field is required. 
Experience 
•    Minimum of three years of experience in the commercial development or management of energy assets. The ideal candidate worked for financial investors active in the renewable space internationally, and IPP or a vertically integrated developer.
